Earlier this month, Bebe Zahara Benet, the winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and Chicago’s own Mark Picchiotti (the official RuPaul’s Drag Race Winner’s Tour DJ) hit the recording studio here in the Windy City. According to Picchiotti, “Bebe blew me away on the every single song we wrote. With her ear for melodies, her ability to sing every every part from her super-hooky African chants to the baritone to the alto, I couldn’t be more pleased. I’m confident we’ve got some surefire hits on our hands.” Benet said, “Marks ability to capture the essence of BeBe was not only intuitive but right on target. It was an amazing and synergistic experience, He is truly a very talented and visionary producer.” The duo recorded four songs, the first of which they plan to debut live around the U.S. later this year.
