Cook County Judge James Linn has sentenced Lisa Gunderson to eight years in prison for involuntary manslaughter for beating her lover, Barbara Wolf, according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Windy City Times originally reported that Gunderson was charged with the Aug. 26, 2006, murder of Wolf, 50. The two shared an apartment at 5415 N. Sheridan, and lived with Gunderson’s infant child.
On Aug. 26, Gunderson and Wolf engaged in a quarrel that resulted with Wolf falling and hitting her head on a dresser. Then, Gunderson allegedly put a blanket on the victim’s head and suffocated her.
Gunderson, who sobbed when the judge sentenced her, apologized for hurting Wolf, and took responsibility for what occurred, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
