Fanboys and fangirls of every stripe descended upon The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont as Chicago Comic-Con took place Aug. 6-9. For the uninitiated, Comic-Con is a world unto itself, with attendees in costumes ranging from The Dark Knight’s Joker to a Spartan warrior from the movie 300; numerous tables featuring illustrators such as Mark Millar, George Perez and Eric Jimenez; and a boatload of celebrities, including Michelle Rodriguez, Kristanna Loken (TV’s Painkiller Jane, Terminator 3), Doug Jones (Hellboy), Beth Horn (TV’s American Gladiators), Lou Ferrigno, wrestler/actor “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and even singer Taylor Dayne.
