Singer Elton John has revealed that his summer concerts with Billy Joel will not take place this year, according to the Chicago Tribune.
During a press junket to promote the Chicago production of the musical Billy Elliot, John said, “It’s not my decision; it’s Billy’s,” adding that Joel “has decided to take a year off. It doesn’t gel with my plans but he’s a friend. And as an artist you have to respect his decision.” John did say that he was “disappointed” that he would not be playing at Wrigley Field again.
As part of their Face 2 Face tour, John and Joel performed at Wrigley July 16 and July 21, 2009, Windy City Times reported.
