Jeffrey Todd Bottorff died Thursday, Aug. 5, in his home in Rogers Park after a brief illness. He was 47.
Bottorff, a marketing specialist, worked for the Obama Indiana campaign in 2008 and was employed at Market Fax, Inc. for more than 15 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., in 1985. He was a National High School Merit Scholar and member of the swim team at Mishawaka High School, graduating in 1981.
He will be fondly remembered by friends and family for his ready willingness to help others and his dedication to numerous charities and political organizations as well as his encyclopedic knowledge, quick intelligence and rapier wit.
Bottorff is survived by his loving mother and father, Sheila and Richard Bottorff of Stevensville, Mich.; his two brothers, James Bottorff and David Bottorff, both of Chicago; and his sister Laura Preston, also of Stevensville. Jeff is also survived by his nephews Anthony Preston and Jacob Bottorff and his niece Alexandra Preston.
He will be buried at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Ind.
