The Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, located on the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Campus at 800 S. Halsted, is reopening 4-6 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 8—coinciding with the 150th anniversary of Addams’ birth. (Addams was born Sept. 6, 1860.)

The restored museum has dramatically expanded the areas open to the public and for the first time ever visitors will be able to view the entire second floor of the Hull home, which includes a permanent exhibition of Jane Addams’ bedroom with personal artifacts such as her 1931 Nobel Peace Prize; childhood diary; letters; a portrait of her companion, Mary Rozet Smith, with poems that Addams wrote to her; and more.
