Jenny McCarthy exposed it all with Playboy, and continued a career as an actor and author. Windy City Times visited the Oak Brook Borders bookstore recently to chat McCarthy up about her new book, Love, Lust & Faking It: The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies and True Romance.

Windy City Times: Hi, Jenny. Welcome back to Illinois!

Jenny McCarthy: Thank you. I like your tattoo on your face.

WCT: I just went to NOH8 photo shoot, so it is temporary.

Jenny McCarthy: I love it!

WCT: Was this new book therapy for you?

Jenny McCarthy: It was. I have always been fascinated about love. Going through my own kind of hardships it was perfect timing to really do some self-realization on myself an inquiry in love. I loved going in deep with specialists, scientists and hookers!

WCT: I read those interviews—wild.

Jenny McCarthy: Yeah, I was really diving into that world. I was trying to find out what makes our hearts tick and what makes our hearts break.

WCT: I didn’t feel it was just for straight people. I definitely got something out of it.

Jenny McCarthy: Yes, of course! There is an inspirational message, love is love.

WCT: I am talking to Patti Stanger, the Millionaire Matchmaker herself, who is in your book.

Jenny McCarthy: Oh, I love her. Tell her I said hi!

WCT: I will. Are you ready to date anyone yet?

Jenny McCarthy: I am dating as we speak.

WCT: You are?

Jenny McCarthy: Yeah, helllooo. Before the looks go, I’ve gotta do it. [Both laugh.]

WCT: Well, you look great.

Jenny McCarthy: I am having fun, some light dating.

WCT: Would you ever do a stand-up comedy act?

Jenny McCarthy: I am thinking about it.

WCT: I think you should.

Jenny McCarthy: You know I would like it but I have [a] fear of public speaking.

WCT: Oh,really?

Jenny McCarthy: Yeah, it’s so weird but I am going to conquer it.

WCT: Would you do Dancing With the Stars?

Jenny McCarthy: Never. I do jokes; that’s about it.
