Playwright Jeanne Sakata is doing her part to make sure that the struggles of Japanese-American Gordon Hirabayashi are not forgotten. In her one-man play Dawn’s Light: The Journey of Gordon Hirabayshi, Sakata focuses on Hirabayashi’s court battles on behalf of Japanese-American citizens who were held in interment camps (without proper due process) during World War II. Silk Road Theatre Project presents this critically acclaimed production with its original star, Ryan Yu. Dawn’s Light plays for only three performances at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13-15, at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park near 205 E. Randolph. Tickets are $10; call 312-742-8497 or visit www.srtp.org.
