Alternating between guitar and piano, Hayford sang more than 20 songs from a variety of Disney movies. He called “Gaston” from Beauty in the Beast his gayest song of the night, and when he got to Winnie the Pooh he alternated between traditional lyrics and his own renditions of the songs. At the end of the performance Hayford teased the audience saying that maybe next year there would be a volume 3 of Disney songs before he encouraged the concertgoers to donate as much money as they could to help ALCC. For the past two Saturday nights Davenports on Milwaukee played host to a AIDS Legal Council of Chicago (ALCC) fundraiser featuring the song stylings of Cabaret and Jazz Artist Justin Hayford. Building on his performance at last year’s benefit Hayford presented The Disney Songbook Volume 2: More Children’s Songs for Grown-Ups to a packed house.
