HIV/AIDS agency Vital Bridges and Heartland Health Outreach, Inc. are exploring a formal affiliation to strengthen the delivery of HIV-care services to vulnerable populations, according to a press release.
Executive staff and board directors had been in talks since last summer. This past December, both organizations signed an agreement to proceed with a formalized due diligence process.
Vital Bridges Board Chair Tom Polucci said, “We understand that HIV/AIDS has shifted to a chronic condition and that the needs of our clients have grown accordingly, so an alliance with Heartland Health Outreach could make great sense.”
The organizations are slated to make a formal decision regarding affiliation by July 1, the start of the new fiscal year for both agencies.
