Andrew John Karzas—renowned WFMT host of “From the Recording Horn” for 35 years, lecturer, opera aficionado, graduate of Harvard College and former owner of the Aragon Ballroom—passed away peacefully at home April 11. He was 77.
Karzas was the beloved life partner of 42 years of the late James Deuter; was the brother of Lois (John) Kempton of Iowa and the late Helen Cambourelis; uncle of Kathryn Kempton of Redondo Beach, Calif., Eleni Cambourelis-Benedikt of Windsor, United Kingdom and Diane Cambourelis-Haskins of Massachusetts. Karzas was also the dear friend of many valued associates and colleagues.
