Inspired by the upcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton as well as the civil unions that soon take place in Illinois, this celebration had a little something for everyone.
Bill Greaves and Howard Brown Health Center were honored with Leppen Leadership Awards for outstanding service to the LGBT community while Ruben Castro received a leadership award as About Face Youth Theatre’s most valuable player. “Queen Elizabeth I” arrived full of pomp and circumstance, bringing her own frame to complete the picture. Auction items ran from weekend getaways to photography and art.
Patrons noshed on food was provided by Hamburger Mary’s, J&L Catering, Berghoff Restaurant and Atwood Cafe, while a special appearance by The Beatles and a live DJ kept the party dancing until late.
