The group dot429 launched the signature speaker series entitled “429inspired” Aug. 19 at Sepia Restaurant. Libby Moore, the chief of staff/executive assistant to Oprah Winfrey, spoke to the crowd about coming out in the workplace and how she will continue to work for OWN until the end of the year. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and a live DJ while mingling among LGBT professionals. Brad McLaughlin from Howard Brown spoke about the recent passing of Christina Santiago (who died at the Indiana State Fair stage collapse), mentioning that proceeds from this evening will go back to the health clinic. More speakers and events are planned, so visit dot429.com for details on membership and future happenings. Photos and text by Jerry Nunn
