The rugby team the Chicago Dragons, in partnership with the 2011 Gay Softball World Series, welcomed rugby star and LGBT ally Ben Cohen to Chicago.

On Aug. 30, Cohen led the Dragons in a rugby practice at Cricket Hill, the official home of the Dragons. He guided the Dragons through drills and gave pointers prior to his other engagements that evening. Practice was open to current players and anyone interested in playing rugby.

The Dragons are currently preparing for its fall 2011 Chicago Area Rugby Football Union competitive season, which kicks off Sept. 10.

Cohen followed practice with a meet-and-greet and auction at Sidetrack. All proceeds of the auction went to the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation. Photos by Hal Baim
