Bisexual Queer Alliance Chicago sponsored “Chicago Celebrates Bisexual Day” Sept. 23 at the Center on Halsted. Led by co-founder, Br. Michael Oboza, each member of the panel told a story of coming to terms with his or her bisexuality to an audience of more than 50. The panel discussion was followed by a reception featuring pizza, networking and socializing.

“Celebrate Bisexuality Day,” also known as “Bi Visibility Day,” takes place each year on Sept. 23. Three bi activists—Wendy Curry of Maine, Michael Page of Florida (creator of American Bisexual flag) and Gigi Raven Wilbur of Texas—started teh event in 1999 to ensure the importance of equal inclusion of bi visibility and celebrate the diversity of bisexual lives.
