Festive Fun includes Pub Crawl, Space Park Spooktacular and Parade

No neighborhood does Halloween like Northalsted. One of Chicago’s most vibrant areas

presents three of the seasons must attend events.

Horny Devil Pub Crawl-Saturday, October 22

Kicking off the wicked week is the Horny Devil Pub Crawl on Saturday, October 22.

Registration is free and starts at Spin at 1 p.m. Participating venues include Buck’s

Saloon, Circuit, DS Tequila, Halsted’s Bar & Grill, Lucky Horseshoe, Minibar, The

North End, Scarlet, Spin and Taverna 750. The crawl culminates at Circuit at 8 p.m. with

a chance to win a plethora of prizes. Those who dare to visit every stop on the crawl are

eligible for the giveaways.

Space Park Spooktacular-Sunday, October 30

The Space Park Spooktacular takes over the neighborhood lot on Sunday, October 30

from 2-5 p.m. The kid friendly event features arts and crafts and activities aimed at the

under age set. Special Entertainment includes Storytime with Turborainbow; Balloons

with Donkeyboy; Airbrush Face Painting by artist David Hillborn; Jovial Jade and

Beepy the Clown; and from Chicago Fire Tribes – Davion and Pyrotechnique.

Halloween Parade-Monday, October 31

The week reaches its peak when The Northalsted Business Alliance, in conjunction with

Triangle Neighbors Association, presents the 15th Annual Northalsted Halloween Parade

on Monday, Oct. 31.

The legendary annual parade goes bigger and better this year with an extended route and

a full line up of stage performances. Registration to march in parade is 5-6 p.m. at Spin

at 800 West Belmont Ave. on the corner of Halsted and Belmont. The parade steps off at

7 p.m. from Belmont and continues north on Halsted to Bradley.

Emceed by the incomparable Miss Foozie, the outrageous and imaginative Halloween

celebration features hundreds of participants parading down Halsted Street cheered on by

thousands of spectators. Stage performers include Chicago Fire Tribe, Environmental

Encroachment, Miss Foozie, Musical of the Living Dead, Chicago Spirit Brigade and

Windy City Gay Idol-TJ Chernick.

Groovy ghouls who participate in the costume contest will vie for thousands of dollars in

cash and prizes. Winners of the costume contest will be announced immediately after the

parade.
