No neighborhood does Halloween like Northalsted. One of Chicago’s most vibrant areas presents three of the seasons must attend events.
Halloween Parade-Monday, October 31
The week reaches its peak when The Northalsted Business Alliance, in conjunction with Triangle Neighbors Association, presents the 15th Annual Northalsted Halloween Parade on Monday, Oct. 31.
The legendary annual parade goes bigger and better this year with an extended route and a full line up of stage performances. Registration to march in parade is 5-6 p.m. at Spin at 800 West Belmont Ave. on the corner of Halsted and Belmont. The parade steps off at 7 p.m. from Belmont and continues north on Halsted to Bradley.
Emceed by the incomparable Miss Foozie, the outrageous and imaginative Halloween celebration features hundreds of participants parading down Halsted Street cheered on by thousands of spectators. Stage performers include Chicago Fire Tribe, Environmental Encroachment, Miss Foozie, Musical of the Living Dead, Chicago Spirit Brigade and Windy City Gay Idol-TJ Chernick.
Groovy ghouls who participate in the costume contest will vie for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. Winners of the costume contest will be announced immediately after the parade.
