The Oak Park Area Lesbian and Gay Association (OPALGA) will hold its OPAL Awards Gala Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Nineteenth Century Club, 178 Forest Ave.
Cocktails, buffet dinner and hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6:30 p.m. The program—an OPAL Award presentation and live auction is at 7:45 p.m. Then, there will be dancing until 11 p.m.
In addition to honoring the recipient of the Oak Park Area Leadership (OPAL) award, several individuals and organizations will be recognized for their work in helping to create and pass the civil-union law in Illinois this year.
