“Prayer in the Face of HIV/AIDS” was the focus of the World AIDS Day Prayer Service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1107 N. Orleans Dec. 1. The evening was sponsored by St. Joseph Parish, AGLO Chicago (Archdiocesan Gay & Lesbian Outreach) and Bonaventure House.

An offering was taken to benefit the ministry of Bonaventure House for people with HIV/AIDS. Alexian Brothers opened Bonaventure House in March 1989.

Those on the program at the service included Joe Murray (who coordinated the event), Larry Cubalchini, Mary Jameyfield, Marty Grochala, Mike Hogan, Werner Ochoa and Alan Szafreniac.
