Several local dance companies received $25,000 grants from Chase as part of the 2011 Chase Community Giving program on Facebook, according to Business Wire. Chase bestowed $3 million in grants on a total of 100 charities/organizations.

The Illinois groups and companies who received grants include Chicago Tap Theatre, Chicago Dance Crash, the International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, Inaside Chicago Dance NFP, Visceral Dance Chicago, the Midwest Independent Film Festival, the Northshore Concert Band, the Curtain Call Community Theatre, Culture Shock Chicago, Porchlight Music Theatre, the Music Theatre Company, Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation, Studio BE, Ka-Tet Theatre and Joel Hall Dancers & Center.

Fans of Chase Community Giving selected United Sikhs in Service of America, a New York City-based charity, as the top recipient of the Chase grants, awarding the charity $250,000.

The fall 2011 program is the fourth installment of Chase Community Giving, which has provided a share of more than $18 million to 500 charities in 41 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico since 2009.
