The late lesbian activist Christina Santiago was among the honorees at the Chicago Foundation for Women’s (CFW’s) 2012 Impact Awards, held March 15 at the Spertus Institute.

Santiago received the Memorial Award. Rosa Yadira Ortiz, a close friend of Santiago, accepted the honor.

Among the other award recipients were Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer, attorney Katherine M. Schon and lawyer/former Personal PAC Chair Jerry Newton.
