A 10-foot-tall toucan has been created from 7,000 magnolia leaves and more than 30,000 Brazilian buttonflowers. There is also another toucan on the seventh floor in the Walnut Room, where diners can sample a floral wine flight along with cuisine such as the Brazilian flank steak or grilled pork churrasco.
Local artists will change displays of flowers every few days in the cosmetics department, creating a “Bouquet of the Day.” New this year are a gift shop and cafe located right outside entrance to the Amazon. Don’t miss the tropical paradise that promises to be bigger, better and brilliantly Brazilian in 2012!
The show is running through April 7. For more information, visit www.macys.com. Photos and text by Jerry Nunn
