On Saturday, June 9, Friends of the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame (GLHF) will hold its first Celebrity Bowl, at Waveland Bowl, 3700 N. Western Avenue, starting at 10am. The event is open to all on a first come basis, so please contact the event coordinator, Dick Uyvari, at 773 769-5115 or CelebrityBowl2012@yahoo.com, to secure a spot.
Friends of the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation, which annually holds an Induction Ceremony for its honorees. It is the only known municipality that so honors its LGBT residents. It not only pays tribute to deserving individuals and organizations, but also documents the LGBT communities’ heritage and diversity through its annual publication and its website, www.GLHallofFame.org.
GLHF is privately funded through the generous donations of individuals, businesses and organizations, along with its 2012 sponsors, including Absolut Vodka, Boi Magazine, Center on Halsted, Circuit Night Club, J&L Catering, Miller Lite, Napleton’s Automotive Group, Phil Hannema, Remy Martin V, Rick Aguilar Studios, Sidetrack and Supergurl Images (list is still in formation).
