The documentary Endgame: AIDS in Black America will air Tuesday, July 10, on PBS at 9 p.m. ET.

The film, by award-winning filmmaker Renata Simone, will feature interviews with basketball legend Magic Johnson; civil-rights pioneer Julian Bond; physicians, health workers, educators and social activists working on the front lines of the crisis; and pastors around the country.

Near the end of the film, the focus is on the hardest-hit city in the country—Washington, D.C.—where the prevalence of HIV last year was higher than in African nations like Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia and the Congo.
