The Denver Summit squeezed past the Phoenix Hellraisers, 33-32, to capture the championship of the fifth annual Pride Bowl flag-football tournament, held June 22-23 in Chicago. Denver’s title game victory ends the three-year run of the Hellraisers as Pride Bowl champions.
The Summit ended the tournament with a 6-0 record, while the Hellraisers went 5-1. The Chicago Wreckers also finished with a 5-1 record—and their stingy defense only allowed 51 points in six games, the fewest allowed by any team.
Chicago Mary’s Attic Assault finished 4-2, while the Chicago Motley Crew was 1-4.
