IF I WAS YOUR GIRL is the tumultuous tale of two urban lesbian couples who spiral down hellacious paths involving sex, abuse, and misuse. This film is written, produced, and directed by CoquieHughes and co-produced by Jeremy M. Jones.
CoquieHughes is a native Chicagoan and award winning filmmaker who has written, produced, and directed numerous features and short films over her 20-year career. She is also a playwright/director, having produced over a dozen stage-plays. She is the founder and lead instructor of Lights Camera Youth Action; a media arts education program geared towards disenfranchised youth. Her filmography includes “Hell’s Most Wanted”, “Daughters of the Concrete”, and the urban lesbian hit film “The Lies We Tell, But The Secrets We Keep”. She has been featured and honored at film festivals such as the Black Harvest International Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival.
