Howard Brown Health Center has found a way to raise money for women’s health services and entertain at the same time. Its annual event “Garden of Eve” was held at the River East Art Center Sept. 14. The space was perfect for the event with two levels and patios for guests to stroll about.

Ted Allen from Food Network’s Chopped hosted a VIP reception and Grammy Nominee singer-songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello performed a lengthy set, keeping people on their feet most of the night.

Friend For Life Awards were presented to Kimberly Y. Smith M.D., M.P.H., as well as the law firm Kirkland & Ellis.

A variety of local restaurants from Marigold to newly opened Pecking Order in Edgewater provided food for the evening. Computerized auctions had attendees bidding on hotels and theater tickets until closing.
