Chicago attorney Shaun Sperling—whose video of his early-’90s, Madonna-themed bar mitzvah went viral, leading to various network show appearances—will be featured again as he and Marc “Moose” Moder present “Shaun’s Gay Bar Mitzvah” Saturday, Sept. 29, at Mary’s Attic, 5400 N. Clark St., 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
Sperling will re-create the bar mitzvah scene at midnight. There will also be Madonna-themed prizes; also, Moder will spin her songs during the whole event. Proceeds from the event will go to UCAN, a local non-profit organization that provides housing for LGBTQ homeless youth.
