Brian Coats, 41, of Chicago died March 19, 2013 at his home.
A memorial service will be at Bobby Love’s bar on Sunday, April 21, 2-6 p.m.
He was born March 23, 1971, in Kankakee, the son of Kelly and Darlene Rice Coats.
Brian Coats was in hotel management with Starwood Hotels at Westin in Lombard. He also had been an emcee at Maneuvers club in Joliet. He was known as “good times” emcee, as well as the mouth of Maneuvers’ float. He rode on the float in the gay pride parade for more than a decade. He brought excitement and fun to every event, according to his friends.
Brian was a regular at Bobby Love’s. He loved to sing karaoke at Maneuvers, Jackhammer and Touche. Brian loved all his friends and loved the city life. He was beloved by his many friends.
Surviving are his parents, of St. Anne; one brother Steven K. (Tammy) Coats, of Bourbonnais; two nephews, Steven K. Coats II and Seth C. Coats; one niece, Siennal Coats; one great-niece and one great-nephew, also, several aunts and uncles. Special friends Ed Neal, Maria Hegarty and Ritch Fischer. He had two families, his birth family and his family of friends.
