The event, and the free camp is the brainchild of the artistic director, LaNita Joseph. Dancing With The Queer Stars is a diverse ballroom dance competition where local queer stars team up to compete in ballroom style dance.
“I want to give people the opportunity to do something great for children who need it while also inspiring people of different colors, sizes and sexuality to fellowship through dance,” Joseph said.
Dancers include gay hall of fame legend, CC Carter, actress Rondala Kelly, activist Jackie Boyd, E3 radio’s Anna Deshawn and more. The event will be co-hosted by Chicago’s own original Dancing With The Queer Stars 2010 Champ Trina Truluv.
