Alice Walker, author, poet and activist, will be in Chicago to read from her two new books, “The Cushion in the Road” and “The World Will Follow Joy.”
Walker is best known for The Color Purple, for which she won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.
The reading will take place July 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the The Swedish Museum, 5211 N. Clark St., Chicago. Tickets are required and available at Women & Children First Bookstore, 5233 N. Clark St. Chicago. Additionally, either of her two new books, purchased from Women and Children First bookstore, comes with a free ticket.
