Planned Parenthood of Illinois is offering free rapid HIV testing at its Austin (5927 W. Chicago Ave.), Englewood (6059 S. Ashland Ave.) and Roseland (11250 S. Halsted St.) locations for a limited time.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, there are more than 22,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in Chicago. Despite declines in HIV-related mortality, HIV continues to be in the top ten leading causes of death, ranking fourth among people between the ages of 34-55 who died in Chicago.
