As is tradition, Chicago’s first Black Pride Festival of the summer took place at Montrose Harbor simultaneously with the annual LGBT Pride Parade nearby.

After a week of indifferent if not schizophrenic weather, Sunday turned out to be the first beautiful day from beginning to end in a long while. With Otis Mack, Mike Conners, Trina Truelove, and Ruff n Stuff as hosts the entertainment segment of the festival was jammed packed with everything from female impersonators, queer rappers, dance groups, and a high school color guard.

Windy City Black Pride will take place this week at venues across town. See details at windycitytimes.com/lgbt/PRIDE-United-Black-Pride-lists-July-1-7-events/43422.html.
