The Wavefront Music Festival kept the turntables spinning for the second year in a row at Montrose Beach, now adding a third day to the weekend. Bigger and better across four stages with more than 100 artists performing there were local offerings, retro DJs and big names like Fatboy Slim and Justice.

Chicago house music was well-represented with Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter and Ralphi Rosario among those spinning.

Huge sand castles, inflatable water slides and Ferris wheels brought the beach bums back to their childhood as they danced all day. While things closed at an early hour for typical DJ sets to follow harbor rules, the after-parties all over the city in a variety of venues kept the party people dancing until the break of dawn.
