Citing the increasing need for effective programs serving Chicago youth scarred by violence or struggling with poverty, Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago has named lesbian veteran child advocate and legal advocate Alicia T. Vega as vice president of youth development.

President/CEO James Keane said Vega will play a key role developing the Clubs’ program vision and how that vision is manifested daily through members’ experiences at the 19 Boys and Girls Clubs throughout Chicago.

Vega served most recently as executive director of the Southwest Youth Collaborative. Previously, she was youth program director for Center on Halsted.
