Terry L. Baker—a resident of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., who once lived in Chicago—passed away Nov. 11. He was 69.
On Oct. 28, Baker was admitted to the intensive care unit at Ft. Lauderdale’s Holy Cross Hospital with acute kidney failure and respiratory distress.
Baker was born and raised in Milwaukee, and lived as an adult in Chicago until 1991, when he moved to Ft. Lauderdale.
He was an inspiration to all who knew him, previously surviving five arterial bypass operations, two leg amputations, two bouts of pneumonia, MRSA, peripheralartery disease, colon cancer and HIV. He was also a loyal and faithful friend to many.
Baker was the son of Harold and Mae Elliott Baker, and the brother of Wayne Baker and the late Donald Baker.

Donations can be made in Baker’s memory to amFAR (the American Foundation for AIDS Research).
