The pop duo Karmin, consisting of Amy Renee Heidemann and Nick Noonan, formed roughly three years ago.

Since then, the group has accomplished a huge amount in a short period of time. After an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and popularity on YouTube, the two landed an EP deal on Epic Records thanks to a little help from L.A. Reid.

Karmin has played Chicago multiple times at events such as Market Days and Macy’s Glamorama where they spoke of their gay fans to me on the red carpet.

At the House of Blues, Karmin cultivated that following more, even picking one gay fella out of the audience to rap with them on the breathrough cover of “Look At Me Now.”

Heidermann and Noonan seemed very humble with their first headline tour as they their first full-length album, Pulses. Opening with “I Want It All” forced the crowd to jump in the air and scream to the beat. Heidemann was in true form with new single “Acapella” and had fun performing “Try Me On,” which some may know from a Dasani water commercial.

Noonan dressed all in green—with a matching trombone to boot.

The song “Hello” enticed fans to wave back at Karmin with their hands in the air and was a crowd-pleaser. Heidemann apologized for the slow song “Neon Lights” because it was a sad subject, although people seemed attentive with the new tracks such as this one. The engaged couple had high energy, making up for the unfamiliarity of the new music.

Karmin closed out after an encore of the hit “Brokenhearted,” ending on a high note.
