Quentin Elias, the leader of the popular ’90s French boy band Alliage, died in his New York City home of an alleged heart attack, according to EDGE Boston. He was 39.

After leaving Alliage in 1999, he also tried to launch a solo career and relocated to New York City in 2002. France Info reports Elias started a gay-porn career under the name “Q3.”

Elias maintained an active Instagram account until his death—he prided himself on his natural physique, and encouraged others to exercise regularly without using performance-enhancing drugs, according to Queerty.

Windy City Media Group publication Nightspots interviewed Elias in 2005. He talked about loving the freedom of New York City, working on his then-new CD and being attracted to the R&B sound. The interview is at windycitytimes.com/lgbt/The-French-Connection-Quentin-Elias/9947.html.
