Brahman/i: A One-Hijra Stand-Up Comedy Show, About Face Theatre and Silk Road Rising, extended through May 4. New About Face Theatre artistic director Andrew Volkoff makes a memorable Chicago directorial debut with a very funny and insightful piece on an intersex Indian-American who lives multi-hyphenated existance straddling different genders and cultures. SCM

Depraved New World, The Second City, open run. With elements of long-form improv, Second City’s 102nd mainstage revue features an extremely sharp cast (especially John Hartman), some high-risk musical improv, several gay-specific scenes and advanced use of music and sound. JA

El Incas, Colectivo el Pozo at La Casa, through May 11. Raúl Dorantes’ exploration of closeted Latino husbands brings its rarely discussed topic to a storefront playhouse located in the very heart of its dramatic realm’s real-world milieu.

Million Dollar Quartet, Apollo Theater, through August 31. It was the day that four immortals in American music dropped into a little sun-baked recording studio to make some joyful noise and reckon on their futures, and we just can’t get enough of it (now running for its fifth year).
