Grey was fighting the flu, keeping her hoodie on for most of this particular show and gulping water between each song to lubricate her vocal cords.
The set had them playing several songs from the new album, including “It’s Chemical” and “Innocence.” The beats were strong but many of the lyrics were not memorable.
There were about three men in the audience of a large crowd of lesbians for this concert. It’s admirable that they keep their sound close to home but what is needed was a signature track to draw in the bigger crowds. The concert lasted about an hour and even though one was under the weather the duo came out to meet fans after their show and were genuinely nice to even the most obnoxious drunk girls in the room to their credit.
Look for the bank to return this summer at the Backlot Bash on June 29 in Andersonville. For more information on the band and the summer show, visit www.uhhuhher.com and www.backlotbashchicago.com, respectively.
