Michael Sam—who recently became the first gay man drafted into the NFL—will be among the celebrities appearing at the Fanatics Authentic Sports Spectactular at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Rd., Rosemont, on June 27-29.
On May 10, the St. Louis Rams used a seventh-round slot in the 2014 NFL draft to select Sam. He came out in interviews with ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” and the New York Times on Feb. 9.
Sam will be at the event June 27. Among the many other athletes slated to be at the show are the NBA’s Tony Parker, former Chicago Cub Andre Dawson, ex-Chicago Bull Dennis Rodman and Chicago Bear Jared Allen.
