The 2014 deadline to nominate individuals, friends of the community and organizations for

induction into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame has been extended to Friday, August 8.

Nomination forms can be downloaded or printed from the Hall of Fame’s website

(www.GLHallofFame.org) or requested by calling 312-401-8893 and leaving a mailing address.

The 2014 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame induction ceremony and reception are

scheduled for Wednesday, November 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chicago History Museum. The

ceremony is open to all at no cost.

The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame is privately funded through generous donations from

individuals, businesses, organizations, and fundraisers such as the annual Pride and Joy

Reception and the annual Celebrity Bowl. Staff support is provided by Friends of the Chicago Gay

and Lesbian Hall of Fame and volunteers. Chicago is the only known municipality that so honors

its gay and lesbian residents. The Hall of Fame not only pays tribute to individuals and

organizations but also documents the communities’ heritage and diversity through its annual

ceremony, its annual publication, and its site on the World Wide Web (www.GLHallofFame.org).
