Screening of homeless teen film Nov. 13

A free screening of The Homestretch—a film about three homeless Chicago teens, one of them LGBT—will take place Thursday, Nov. 13, at Berry United Methodist Church, 4754 N. Leavitt St., at 7 p.m.

A free-will offering to benefit The Night Ministries will follow the screening, the Gay Liberation Network and Berry United Methodist Church are co-sponsoring.

The following night, one of the teens, Kasey White, will be a guest on the Gay Liberation Network (GLN) on Chicago Access Network TV, at 6:30 p.m. on Cable Channel 21 in Chicago, interviewed by GLN’s Roger Fraser.

Indie film fest Nov.18

The short-film fest “Indie Incubator XIX: Second to the Last, But Second to None” will take place Tuesday, Nov. 18, at The Original Mother’s, 26 W. Division St., at 8 p.m.

As in the past, every filmmaker will be awarded an Eye-Con award; however, only one will be crowned “Best in Fest,” complete with a $250 cash prize. (Winners must be present.)

Admission is free, and it is free to submit a film. Films must be submitted on or before Friday, Nov. 14.
