On Nov. 22, Q-Tea-Pie Chef Shiane Wilcoxen, in partnership with the Center on Halsted, hosted the third annual Thanksgiving dinner for homeless and at-risk youth.
The event was held in the Center’s “Youth Space” and featured a free winter bazaar, a raffle, a massive dinner spread, an awards ceremony, free toiletries and a climactic performance by the duo Sister Speak. One of the highlights of the evening was LGBT pioneer Jackie Anderson’s address to the youthful audience.
Supporters of the event included Alpha Pi Psi Sorority, Christopher’s House of Hope, Team 101 Chicago, Omega Pi Psi Fraternity, and The Humble Hearts Foundation.
