Chicago’s LGBT Gerber/Hart Library and Archives unveiled the new Sandfield Exhibition Gallery at a special event April 19, 6500 N. Clark Street. The Norman L. Sandfield Charitable Fund of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation recently donated $100,000 to Gerber/Hart, and Sandfield also gifted 50 boxes of his archival material.

Some of those items are now on display in the exhibit “Preserving History/Expanding Culture: Selections from the Norman L. Sandfield Collection.” There are a wide range of items from his many different collections, including AIDS pins, cards and stamps; rainbow-themed buttons, stickers and games; Gay Games memorabilia; Jewish LGBT items including Congregation Or Chadash newsletters and shirts; and political items.
