Chicago Department of Public Health has moved its Austin-area STI Specialty Clinic to a new location, which is now open for business three days a week. The new facility is located at 4909 W. Division St., Suite 411. Hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Tuesdays 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Phone (312) 746-4871.

Among the services offered are routine testing for HIV, gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia, as well as other less-common sexually-transmitted infections. Same-day HIV testing results are provided. Treatment for common STIs, when possible, is administered on the spot, or medication can be dispensed at the clinic visit.

Additionally, all female patients are offered routine screening for common vaginal infections, including trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, and yeast infections.

Other services include free male and female condoms; HIV counseling, including linkage to care services for HIV-infected persons; partner notification services; and referrals for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).

Services are available to persons age 12 and older, and parental consent is not required for teens. Uninsured patients, or those otherwise unable to pay, are welcome.

Other STI Specialty Clinics are located in Englewood, Roseland, Lake View and West Town. For more information, visit bit.ly/1rNfcBY.
