James Murphy, aka Murph, passed away on Friday, May 15 after a short illness. He was 83 years old.
Born and raised in Chicago, he worked for the Fannie May Candy Company in product control until he retired in 1992. He owned a two-flat in Albany Park, where he resided until moving to Wilton Manors, Florida in 2003.
An army veteran of the Korean War, he was a world traveler, whose favorite locations were Ibiza and Thailand. He is survived by his chosen family; his close friend Alan Kennedy and Vince Zinkevicius, Geary Wells, Pat Burke, Mike Velajo, Gregg Shapiro, Rick Karlin, Don Parks and Russ Reisenleiter.
