Out journalist LZ Granderson has joined ABC News as a contributor, TheWrap noted. He will continue on as a senior writer at ESPN, where he covers the NBA and serves as tennis editor.
Granderson also hosts and co-produces several digital programs for the so-called Worldwide Leader in Sports. Granderson was named Journalist of the Year in 2011 by the National Lesbian Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA), of which he is a lifetime member. Additionally, Granderson has been a mentor to emerging journalists and he has advocated for diversity in journalism through his work with NLGJA and the National Association of Black Journalists, according to an NLGJA press release.
Previously, Granderson was a CNN contributor and worked at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Kalamazoo Gazette, The South Bend Tribune and The Grand Rapids Press.
