ROOF Sundays at theWit, 201 N. State St., a dayclub located in the Loop, has launched. (It actually started May 24.)

It has been called one of the best dayclubs in the nation. However, the patrons were missing May 31—either because of the drab weather or the fact that people were recovering from celebrating the Chicago Blackhawks’ game 7 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

That’s a shame, though—although those dealing with hangovers probably wouldn’t want to deal with the pulsating (and quite danceable) beats echoing throughout the rooms. (On top of that, there was a trumpet player performing along to some of the songs.)

The cuisine was just as good as I remembered from my previous visit a fortnight ago. The jerk-chicken and lamb-bacon flatbreads were damn tasty, and the macarons (in different flavors such as root-beer float and strawberry shortcake) were heavenly.

The staff is pretty friendly, although there are definitely some imposing-looking security. Service was solid, although our server, Sarah, told us as soon as my friend and I sat down that our seats would be bumped if someone bought bottle service—although the host had just told us we could sit in the reserved section.

I’d recommend going to ROOF Sundays (2-8 p.m.) at theWit, running through the end of August. Just be careful where you sit.
