(New York, February 19, 2016) — Lambda Legal today launched a petition drive calling upon U.S. Senators to do their job and give President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee a fair hearing and a swift vote. Noting that the work of the Supreme Court is too important to leave a seat vacant for a year and that it is the responsibility of the President under the U.S. Constitution to fill vacancies on the Court, the petition calls on the Senate leadership to stop engaging in obstructionism.
